Wazir Restaurant
If you ever find yourself wandering along Cranbrook Road in London and feel the sudden craving for a warm, comforting, and flavor-packed meal, let me tell you exactly where to head-Wazir Restaurant. Located at 55-57 Cranbrook Rd, IG1 4PG, this spot isn’t just another Middle Eastern eatery-it’s an experience, especially if you’re into Turkish and Persian delights. It's a popular choice for everything from a casual solo lunch to a family dinner with a side of sports on screen.
First, let’s talk ambience. It’s warm, vibrant, and truly inclusive. Whether you're dining solo or with a big group, or even navigating in a wheelchair, the restaurant is impressively accessible. There’s wheelchair-friendly parking, entrances, seating, and restrooms. Plus, if you’re not in the mood to dine in, they've got takeaway, delivery, and even no-contact delivery options-all handled smoothly.
But let’s get to the heart of the matter: the food. The menu at Wazir Restaurant is a rich tapestry of Turkish and Persian cuisine, loaded with dishes that bring both tradition and comfort to your plate.
If you ask regulars, one dish that often tops the list is the Lamb Iskender Kebab-succulent slices of lamb layered over warm bread, drenched in tomato butter sauce and served with yogurt on the side. It’s indulgent, filling, and a classic for a reason.
For a more shareable option, go for the Karisik Kebap (mixed grill). This one’s a meat lover’s dream-a sizzling combo of skewers including Adana Kebab, Chicken Iskender, and more, served with fluffy couscous and rice.
Prefer something lighter or vegetarian-friendly? The Greek Salad here is not just a token side-it’s fresh, crisp, and generously portioned. Pair it with a side of Hummus, Lentil Soup, or even a Wazir Traditional Breakfast if you're coming in early. Oh, and don’t skip the Lahmajoun-a thin, crisp flatbread topped with spiced minced meat, perfect for those who want a flavorful bite without the heaviness.
The beverage game at Wazir is strong. Tea lovers, rejoice-the Turkish Tea and Mint Tea are both aromatic and served the traditional way. If you’re after something refreshing, their Mango Lassi is a creamy, fruity dream, and their fresh juices don’t disappoint either.
Wazir is also known for its halal offerings, making it a reliable go-to for Muslim diners looking for a trustworthy spot in East London. You’ll also find healthy options, vegetarian plates, and small bites if you’re just in for a quick nibble.
Dessert? Absolutely. The Baklava is flaky and honey-soaked without being overly sweet, and the Rice Pudding is a favorite for those who want something creamy and nostalgic.
Another great perk? It’s a top spot for watching sports. There’s a laid-back buzz when the game’s on, with screens that don’t overpower the setting but keep fans satisfied. It’s this blend of hospitality, great food, and casual vibe that makes Wazir a local favorite-not just for a one-time meal, but for returning again and again.
Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a midnight craving for kebabs and tea, Wazir Restaurant delivers across the board. It’s the kind of place you come to once and end up bookmarking in your mind (and your delivery app) for every occasion thereafter.

Reviews
It was my husband's 60 and my kids Hajj get together. We booked for 60 people, we went in the morning to do the decorations. The restaurant allowed us to decorate the hall, and they also put our desserts and cake in the fridge. Najmeh and Shoaib were amazing. They made sure everything went well. They were very helpful, polite, professional and supportive throughout the event. The only thing is that the restaurant doesn't give tap water and charges for soft drinks are too much. Other than that it was a great experience and everyone was really happy with their service. Thank you
Overpriced!!! The seating arrangement is spacious and can accommodate a large number of guests. The food was decent, but not exceptional—I've had better Turkish cuisine, so I found it underwhelming in comparison. Service was average, yet they added a £5–£7 service charge. They don’t allow outside drinks, don’t provide tap water, and charged me £2.19 for a bottle that usually costs 25p, I found online. Overall, I found it overpriced and not worth the experience. I regret not checking reviews beforehand. That was my first—and definitely last—visit to Wazir.
Was lovely having food here. Drinks, food and dessert was lovely! Should do tap water and ice but other than that, great service especially from our waiter, Dominic. Very friendly, bubbly and made us feel very welcomed. As did his colleagues. Food was really good and close to ilford station.
Wazir is a superb restaurant, conveniently located just a stone’s throw from Ilford station. There is ample parking at the rear of the establishment, which is a definite bonus. Interestingly, the rear of the restaurant is far more visually appealing than the frontage on Cranbrook Road. It certainly adds to the overall charm of the place…
Very good & cosy place. We had tried Lamb ribs,Soecial Chicken, Chicken Chenjeh, chicken beyti. I would recommend Lamb Ribs. I loved that. Also from dessert section i would recommend Kunafah. It’s so tasty. If you want to celebrate birthday or surprise your fvrt person they will arrange it.
